Michael Galbreth

MICHAEL GALBRETH was born in 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He received a BFA from Memphis State University and MFA from the University of Houston. He is most well known for his work as part of the duo The Art Guys with Jack Massing, a collaboration that has spanned more than 33 years. The Art Guys have presented hundreds of exhibitions, performances, lectures and other activities throughout the United States, Europe and China. On April 1, 2016 The Art Guys announced “The Art Guys are not artists” thus beginning a radical experiment to move beyond the definitions and limits of art itself. Michael Galbreth lives with his wife and son in Houston, Texas.
